FAQ

The number of sessions depends on each and every case.

Each session is 90 minutes long.

The sessions are usually scheduled every two weeks, but can be tailored to each individual’s or couple’s needs.

Both options are available.

ISTDP offers quick and focused improvements to mental health and well-being, compared to classical therapy approaches.
Through specialized interventions, individuals and couples are able to gain deeper insights into their behaviors, thought processes, and emotional responses. One of the main benefits of ISTDP is also to develop effective coping mechanisms and strategies tailored to target the specific challenges of each and every individual or couple.

ISTDP addresses the therapeutic alliance, which refers to the collaborative and trusting relationship between a therapist and a patient by identifying and tackling interpersonal barriers such as dependency, opposition, and detachment. This allows for a better relationship between the therapist and their patient.

This technique also focuses on self-defeating tendencies such as self-neglect and self-attack, which could slow down therapy engagement. The therapist helps patients embrace self-compassion.

The ISTDP approach also optimizes the monitoring of anxiety to lower it to a manageable level, making the therapy more effective.

In the process of psychotherapy, patients learn to tolerate and process emotions, leading to healing and reduced symptoms, thus enhancing their mental health, quality of life, and overall well-being. Each treatment plan is personalized and customized to consider the individual’s or couple’s unique circumstances, challenges and strengths in a safe and confidential environment.
